2 day 2012 International Construction Conference - 14th and 15th February 2012
The ICC2012 Organizing Committee has put a call out for eminent speaker(s) for their consideration and acceptance.
Very briefly, ICC2012 is as follows:
1. The International Construction Conference 2012
The International Construction Conference 2012 entitled, “Challenges Of Global Mega Projects – Modernising Construction For Project Excellence” - focuses on exploring international practices & challenges on Innovative & Creative Designs, Efficient Contract Procurement & Project Delivery System, Effective Construction Process & Methodology, Cost & TIme Efficient Supply & Value Chain Management, Sustainable Construction & the like towards project success.
2. Purposes & Objectives
• Showcase on excellent concept & design development procurement delivery system, construction engineering, technology & methodology, as well as overall construction and project management in mega projects
• To promote, impart & enhance knowledge & practices to improve efficiency, productivity & competitiveness
3. Proposed Concept
• Focuses on project-based presentations by professionals, practitioners and builders from each & every identified mega project on the following areas
• Each presentation shall focus on one or more of the following:
1. Innovative & Creative Project Concept And/or Design
2. Effective & Efficient Construction Methodology & Technique
3. Excellent Environmental Sustainability & Green Technology
4. Competitive Economic Sustainability
5. Productive & Cost Efficient Project Buildability & Constructability
6. Total Quality Management (TQM) in Construction Project Management
7. Industrialized Building System (IBS)
8. Project Time & Program Management
9. Project Risk Management, Contract Administration & Procurement Delivery System
10. Other Innovative & Creative, Efficient & Effective Supply & Value Chain Management
• Topics of interest for the above may include practices on Lean Construction, Recycling Of Construction Waste, Waste Management, Green Technology, Life Cycle Costing & Value Management, Modularisation & Standardisation of building components, Productive Performance & Strategy For Improvement, etc.
4. Our Definition Of Mega Projects
• Projects either recently completed or under-construction, that display a degree of complexity, sophistication, innovation and creativity with uniqueness or state-of-the-art of their own in terms of designs, engineering and technology, procurement, contractual arrangement and administration, project planning and construction methodology, facilities and services, or overall construction and project management.
• Construction cost for each of the mega project is assumed to be not less than RM250 million
As the conference is scheduled for the 14th & 15th February 2012, we ask all interested presenters to submit their presentation abstracts of no less than 500 words of text summarizing the proposed presentation together with a short biodata (100 words) by email to Audrey Chen, CIOB Malaysia achen@ciob.org.my or fax on: +603-2284 9754 on or before 10 November 2011.
Submissions will be judged on relevance to conference theme, clarity of thought, data/documented results, creativity, fit in conference program and other criteria.
